Body Language is good but yahoo has a good point. But Most people don't pay attention to there teammates unless there medics and engineers because they mostly focus on the enemys + tf2 the game is too hecktic too many things are going on to pay the attention to body language. Thats my thought.

I do have to say medics and spies are the people I expect the most communication from, medics by nature need to be more aware of the situation and it's good for others to know when an uber rush is about to commence.

Many spy players waste their efforts by not letting teammates know they are about to sap defenses, it's great to create the chaos and take down entrenched buildings, but if no one moves in nothing is accomplished, plus even if you get killed and the saps removed, having your team rushing in gives them a chance to finish the job.

So true! It's also nice to know where the sentries are located. You don't hear that very often, but it's super helpful for making the most of an uber or taking out a sentry that you can't necessarily see. I spend a lot of time lobbing stickies into blind spots where a sentry MIGHT be.

I use the voice commands a lot when I play. Place Teleporter, Incoming, Go!, Move up!, and all the myriad cheer, jeer, positive, negative, nice shot, and good job. I use my mic plenty too, but I think it adds to the game to use the voice commands, to actually hear the Scout's voice saying "Incoming" might alert you more to look where he is coming from, whereas just my voice saying "Incoming" might not be enough information.

Also, I could tell that Sniper that was a good shot he just made on that flying Soldier, but I think it, once again, adds to the game to have the Demo running past him yell "GOOOOOD SHOT, MAN!!" The Demo has the best voice commands, I say. When I play as him, you'll constantly hear him saying "You're doing good, lad!"

I originally started that.

I think it gives other players encouragement, and is a good team player style

The map to cut your teeth on, so to speak, if you want to learn the ins and outs of communication is Warpath.

On on map that I can think of (maybe Badlands, to some extent), can communication have such a profound effect.

I have seen teams steamroll on that map because of excellent communication, and also hold back the enemy team because of it.

The greatest is when you get your back against the wall and then push the enemy all the way back and win. Only a team that has discovered how to communicate AND fulfill each their proper function will make that happen!!
Optimus Prime";p="96077"]I agree with nick, sometimes you can say a lot with just the voice commands or even just by getting a feel for the class roles. Playing as medic, you really have to rely on teamwork and understanding what the healee is doing, and if you don't have a mike, this is kind of hard...

So, the quick guide to "Having Prime as a medic"

1. If i have uber and am spamming the "Go Go Go" button, i am going to uber you whether you like it or not, so start running.

2. Spamming the "INCOMIIIIIING" button while you are ubered and dancing around in circles means there is a pyro/heavy/soldier standing right next to me with a big grin on his face, waiting for the charge to end. Please kill him. Please?

3. "Move up!" means MOVE UP, THEY HAVE NO ONE ON POINT, COME ON PEOPLE PUSH! WE ALMOST HAVE THIS! followed by spamming the "jeers" command when everyone sits back and waits for them to get their sentries back up...

4. Spy! Spy! Spy!.....*backstab*.....okay, that one's not so specific, but if i'm chasing a random demo swinging my bonesaw wildly, chances are you should help me out before he takes out half the team.

I really wish there was a response to the "meeeeediiiic" command, like an "I'm coming!" button, cause it gets annoying real fast with people spamming the medic button.
This is me also

But it seems like no one ever understands GO GO GO for me

Because as he was using his mic the jeer tuned it out

I don't like to talk on the mic too much. I feel bossy and annoying. So I usually try to just give out needed info. "Demo spy on point" That kinda thing. Occassionally I'll chit chat if I know someone on the server.

Though I do have a bad habit of gripping on voice. :P

Hey Fiz!

was nice playing with u on warpath today.

I as a demo say "Activate charge" to tell u i am ready to go in and blow stuff up.
Use the mike often to tell ppl to move when i have cleared everything.

Lol, most would already know, I liky the armchair general trait, however i suk as a general since i go in and get killed.

Last time i cheked generals send others to do thier dirty work

regardless, whoever you are GG

I used to talk a lot more when I was competing with serious teams but now that I'm just pubbing, my mic use has been reduced to saying things like "Guns are down" when I go demo or "I hear uber" when the enemy gets a charge.

I need to start talking more again. :(

Hey Mr_s.

I never remember who is on my team, but I always remember who kills me. And you do a mighty fine job of it.

I wish there was a voice chat with enemy option. I know it would be abused too much, but sometimes you just want to yell, "Die in a fire!" to some annoying Demoman....

Your only recourse, fiz, is the 'y' key. Good players will usually catch your asides. I do it to people all the time :P

Carpe and I have fun taunting each other and tsk'ing one another for non-axe kills now and then.

And I used to like to give Shifty a hard time because his icon is a dog in a wig that taunts me.
