Server avatars?

Post by l3eeron » Fri May 02, 2008 1:35 pm

Hey guys...

Anyone know how I get an image for an avatar that does the same thing as these?

http://www.theville.org/viewtopic.php?t=1328

I went to our HLStatsX page, there is an avatar style banner there, but it wont work here.

If I knew how to do it , I would make 'em myself....

I can't find the images you're talking about on the stats page. :?

The ones in that post are generated using the GD library in PHP. You can probably easily modify the .script that creates those to create an additional image that is avatar size and then use the offsite avatar option to link to them.

The GD library on this server works just fine, but the TF2 servers with the new Orange Box engine return information about the server differently. If you notice, the DoD1.3 and DoDS ones work fine.
Also SourceMod (which we need) interferes with the info being returned from the server.
If you use 1.6 version of HLSW you will understand what I mean. HLSW 2.0+ returns the correct info while the older version doesn't.

So it means that those little sigs/banners won't work any more.

I suggest just using the GameTracker ones but then again, these are bigger than the 130x130 limit set for avatars.

When work dies down in a week or so, I'll look at creating avatars for these forums....

bummer, thats what I was looking for...

My bad Stevo, it was game-monitor.com, not our hlstatsX page:

choose avatar from drop down menu.

This one is small enough, but it doesn't have the name of the server. It just says Team Fortress 2 Rank:120

...d0G if you ever find the time it'd be cool! No hurries though! :D

Took me a while, but here they are.
Half the battle was grabbing the info from the server!

Paste the link into the "off site avatar" box in your profile!

Paste the IP (without the port) and add ".png" to the end.

So that:

...will give you:
