GeForse 7600GS 256mb or 512mb?

Well, a Geforse might be somewhat good, but I would recommend a Geforce. Now those are the graphics cards you are looking for. A Geforse just messes up the system.

If you're saddled with AGP I would look up the 3850 agp.

Getting a 512 7600gs is like putting spinner rims on a pinto.

I've seen both in action and both work well, but I agree with Clay. Go with a cheaper card and put the money saved towards a new mobo, CPU, and RAM. Spending a lot on the new card might not be worth it; it won't be of any use if and when you upgrade your PC. I might suggest a midrange GeForce 6000 series. My 6600 worked well on PCI-E system, I would imagine AGP would give similar results.

If we can't change your mind though, go with the 256MB, if only for the price difference.
