It linked funny then, it was the M2R, not the M2RS... if you ask me either will work though.

well it looks as if the newest 9850be DO include a heatsink. Maybe I should just go with that and not do any OC'ing?

I keep seeing people getting it to 3.2 on air, but they OV it, and thats something I don't do anyway, even on my own stuff.

Here is the build as it stands right now. NCIXUS has the processor 20 bucks cheaper than newegg.

Should I ditch the 8800gt and get a 9600gt? My girlfriend wont be playing crysis. Mainly titanquest and if I can get her more into fpses then tf2 as well.

I'd say save the 8800GT.

If you want to save a few bucks, ditch the sound card. Onboard sound especially on nice motherboards is great! Especially when you are getting a low end sound card.

Also, the power supply you picked is overkill. You would be good with a high quality 400-550 watt psu. And that optical is IDE, unless there is a reason for you to pick an IDE drive, get a SATA.

indeed, get teh 8800GT, you want it longer down the road. Yeah ditch the soundcard, its not worth it, and plus, if you are gunna be running Vista... by all means burn that sound card to the ground.

And Ben, that is a high quality 650w... theres nothing wrong with Antec, they make some of the best PSUs

And Clay, when you order form multiple places, make sure that your still saving money bc ur paying multiple shipping, occasionally it can be more, in your case, i dont think so though.

Yeah, I said it's overkill, not crap :P I'm just saying he would be fine with a less wattage power supply that is still good quality.

Would at 500 watt psu be enough?

a 500W will be enough yeah. But, one of the reasons i chose that one, is because it Modular, if you dont need to use some of the cables, you just dont plug em in. It saves a ton of space and makes organization inside the case much much easier.

And well.... its also on sale at newegg, The Antec 500W Modular PSU is the same price right now :) so.... its your choice really. Another thing, the extra 150W of power will never go to use... but, BUT, for that reason, your PSU will always be underloaded and overall will run more efficiently, thus increases its longevity. It wont cost you less on your electric bill though :)

But, i will post a few modular 500W, less than $100, as well so here ya go:

Antec 500W
Thermaltake 500W
Enermax 400W

well.... um yeah that all i could find

It should seem obvious now. I mean for $30k, you could have a V6 or a V8, what do you take? For $100 you can get 500W or 650W.....Higher cost of ownership but greater scalability and versatility, and in the computing world, that is key.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817153052 Or I could save 30+ bucks and get a 500watt.

I wouldn't sweat it not being modular. As long as you have some zip ties you should be fine to move the cables away from the air-flow space. And the fact that the case he selected doesn't have a window, you can't see em.
