Ah, thats going to be a sad day. So many stats I've worked moving up in. Particularly sniper kills, headshots, and machete kills. I need to see if I can get 1000 kills this week so I break 10k.

Although there are alot of peculiar things that are going on with the stats right now. Most obviously, I have 9,202 yet my weapon list does not add up to anywhere near 9k. Secondly, it says I have 1,725 on the main list but then it shows only 1,324 kills (and 1,007 HS) on my personal stats page. I'm sure theres a simple explanation, but whats goin on here?

Weapon kill stats only track for 21 days. So any kills you got longer than 22 days ago are not going to show up (except for the Awards and your total kill count). Thus why all my Awards add up to almost 600 axe kills, my stats only show 130. Sucks, but that's just the way it is

Is there a final decision on how the stats are going to be counted from now on? Did I miss this in the stats change thread?

No final decision yet.
We're trying different things.
I get the feeling people aren't happy with the losing of points so it's open to change.

These are OUR stats so it's up to us how they operate.
