Wow that is really, really hard....

For comedy I would have to go with:

The Jerk and Blazing Saddles

Ugh there are so many great movies.....

Aliens, The Usual Suspects, and if it counts Band of Brothers

I have a lot of movies that I like. I don't know that I've had a favorite movie. Right now though I can't get enough of the Transformers movie. It is just pure awesomeness.

hmmm, I'd kind of have to go old school like Shifty. Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, anything Mel Brooks related really. Office Space is a classic in my eyes as is Some Like it Hot and newer, but still great is Old School. I do give props to Superbad though, that movie is a riot.

As far as sci-fi and fantasy and such go, I would have to say the LOTR and HP franchises were/are maginificently put together. They are amazing.

As far as action is concerned, I am a huge fan of Equilibrium. I also love Eraser and Lucky #Slevin. Also, Inside Man, and th Bourne trilogy were great. (I also love, Blade...especially Trinity with Ryan Reynolds).

As far as horror movies go, the Saw franchise is amazing. I was not into horror movies unitl I saw the first one, and it completely blew me away. I fell in love with Jigsaw, and he is now one of my favorite villains of all time. Uhm....

As you can see I'm a movie buff, I pretty much watch it all hehe. :)

*edit: Just saw that was post #500....weeeeeeeeee!*

I agree with the Saw movies. I'm not really a horror buff but those are some good movies.

I expect people to turn on me for this one...but anyway. I pick this as my favorite movie because if it happens to be on I'll always watch it. The Princess Bride. I mean, how many great lines came from this movie?

"HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE". "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

"I donna suppose you could speed things up?", "If you're in such a hurry, you could lower a rope or a tree branch or find something useful to do.", " I could do that. I have some rope up here, but I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you. ", "That does put a damper on our relationship. "

"Who are you?". "No one of consequence", " I must know...", "Get used to dissapointment"

" I can't compete with you physically, and you're no match for my brains.". "You're that smart?", Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?", "Yes", "Morons!"

"Are you the Miracle Max who worked for the king all those years?". "The King's stinking son fired me, and thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it? We're closed!"

"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours."

"Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe....they're so perky, I love that."

"Why do you wear a mask? Were you burned by acid, or something like that?", "Oh no, it's just that they're terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future."

"We'll never succeed. We may as well die here", "No, no. We have already succeeded. I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurt - no problem. There's a popping sound preceding each, we can avoid that. Two, the lightning sand, which you were clever enough to discover what that looks like, so in the future we can avoid that too.", "what about the R.O.U.S.'s?", "Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist."

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father prepare to die"

Anyhoo....

In the past year my favorite movie was a tie between Superbad and The Simpsons Movie.
Well played....clerks......

Mr.Brooks is a must see http://www.theressomethingaboutmrbrooks.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQERrAfoNFk I've turned ppl on to this movie and everyone has loved it. 300 was a wicked movie but meeting the spartans sucked big time. Also another good movie is The ultimate gift
http://www.theultimategift.com/home.php ... 5&cat=home great story with a great ending (tear jerker) if you dont cry at the end of this movie you have no soul.

Leonardo! Thank you for reminding me of it! Honestly, The Princess Bride is in my top 5 of all time. I have a poster of it above my bed, and own the 20th anniversary or 25th anniversary or whatever edition.

The Princess Bride literally has everything I love about about movies: Comedy, Adventure, Action, Love, Cary Elwes...
It is amazing.

*edit: Also, a movie star that doesn't get much credit...Bruce Campbell. He is a riot, and is amazing, if you have not seen Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, or Army of Darkness, please do! They are amazing! Also, Jack of all Trades on tv was a riot and now he is on Burn Notice, which is an amazing show, I wish he would be getting more props! But alas!*

Yes! Princess Bride = great movie. i never saw it til last year when my girlfriend had me watch it, and i loved it! love it for the same reasons i love Fight Club - great quotes throughout....

My personal favorite: Tyler Durden: Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken!

Tyler Durden: [pointing at an emergency instruction manual on a plane] You know why they put oxygen masks on planes?
Narrator: So you can breath.
Tyler Durden: Oxygen gets you high. In a catastrophic emergency, you're taking giant panicked breaths. Suddenly you become euphoric, docile. You accept your fate. It's all right here. Emergency water landing - 600 miles an hour. Blank faces, calm as Hindu cows.

Tyler Durden: Did you know if you mixed equal parts of gasoline and frozen orange juice concentrate you can make napalm?
Narrator: No. I did not know that. Is that true?
Tyler Durden: That's right; one can make all kinds of explosives using simple household items...
Narrator: Really?
Tyler Durden: If one were so inclined.

Narrator: This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time.

Tyler Durden: F*** off with your sofa units and strine green stripe patterns, I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let... lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.

Tyler Durden: Only after disaster can we be resurrected.

Tyler Durden: I want you to do me a favor.
Narrator: Yeah, sure...
Tyler Durden: I want you to hit me as hard as you can.
Narrator: What?... in the face?
Tyler Durden: Surprise me.

Tyler Durden: [whispering] Tell him the liberator who destroyed my property has realigned my perception.

Tyler Durden: Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessel's life. His breakfast will taste better than any meal you and I have ever tasted.

Tyler Durden: Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!

Tyler Durden: All right, if the applicant is young, tell him he's too young. Old, too old. Fat, too fat. If the applicant then waits for three days without food, shelter, or encouragement he may then enter and begin his training.

Marla Singer: Candy stripe a cancer ward. It's not my problem.

Narrator: I am Jack's smirking revenge.

Tyler Durden: Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy s*** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

Narrator: First person that comes out this f****** door gets a... gets a *lead salad*, you understand?

Tyler Durden: It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.

Tyler Durden: In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

Narrator: I felt like destroying something beautiful.

Narrator: On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Tyler Durden: The things you own end up owning you.

Narrator: [about the soap] Tyler sold his soap to department stores at $20 a bar. Lord knows what they charged. It was beautiful. We were selling rich women their own fat a**es back to them.

Narrator: [to Tyler, while looking at a Calvin Klein-esque ad on the bus] Is that what a real man is supposed to look like?

Narrator: [reading] I am Jack's colon.
Tyler Durden: I get cancer, I kill Jack.

.... ah, i could go on, the whole movie is full of memorable quotes. :D (and for the record, i cheated and copied that from imdb.com, i didnt feel like typing it all out :P)
