Also from that article....
The unlockables aren't just beefed up versions of the weapons, they balance major advantages and disadvantages to fundamentally alter the role of that class. The first Medic unlock, for example, is called the Overhealer. Instead of temporarily buffing people's health to 50% above their normal maximum, it permanently boosts them to double their standard health. The downside is that it'll be dramatically worse at building Ubercharge - in fact, Valve are toying with not letting it Uber at all.

No details on what the second unlock they'll be rolling out in this update will be, beyond the basics: it'll be another Medic healing ray, and it'll change the way the class plays all over again
maybe they'll bring the medics ability to infect the enemy back. that'd be crazy with the range of the healing ray, but would definitely change the way the class is played.

I stuck it on TV8 to see if it'd run and within minutes, the server was full....But then as the map progressed, people were joining and leaving all the time....weird.
One of the issues we had earlier tonight was that the round just would not end. The map finally ended about 20-30 minutes after the timeleft had run out, and after about half the starting players had dropped. I think the score was 3-8. Not certain which server it was (I want to say TV1).
I was on for this also, it was TVI

Re: Yeah New Maps
I always felt that the syringe gun should give an effect of a concussion grenade from TFC. The Medic's syringe gun should aid the Medic in retreating when his primary healing target gets cut down.
Maybe weaken the current damage of the syringe gun an add a very short duration effect on the enemy that makes his screen wobble around.

Re: Yeah New Maps
i know we can't compare TFC to TF2 but when i first heard 'well' would be revamped for TF2 i immediately thought of one thing...the teamwork involved just to get the flag tossed through the snipers cove window to an awaiting teammate on the main surface. (it's too bad theres no document throwing in TF2). cause TF2s 'well' was created as a CP type map it helped me get past all that nostalgia-they should have left it alone...but they also deserve the recognition for their effort in keeping us entertained with new maps and such.

Yeah, I'll be pretty stoked if they increase the amount of kills I can get with the Needle Gun, nothing more fun than needling a charging pyro in the face as he chases down another "easy medic kill"
If I can get some "residual kills" like the pyro burning...bring it

I would say it does a pretty good job of that today, I use it over the bonesaw because the bonesaw just takes so dang long to start sawing!
"Hey everybody, I am on FIYER!"
Cheers
