Can't Find Video Card Drivers

Post by Buzzy Beetle » Sun Jan 06, 2008 10:17 pm

I've been trying to find the drivers for Captain Jim's video card for his new laptop - it's an ATI Radeon X1270. I believe it's onboard, and I'm not sure if that changes what I should be looking for (I'm not used to looking for onboard stuff). He's been having some video issues with TF2 and some major video issues with Portal, and I was just hoping someone could help out.

Thanks in advance.

ati should have drivers for it. My mobility x200 express or whatever on my work/school laptop had drivers from amd's site.

XP (32 bit) http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catal ... egrated-xp

Vista (32 bit): http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catal ... ed-vista32

Neither explicitly list the 1270 in the supported list, but the release notes do contain some mention of specific 1270 issues with using external monitors, so I'm guessing they're the right drivers.

I remember reading some where that Laptop drivers should be downloaded from the manufacturer's site.

Ok, I'll get him to install those and give it a shot. Will update later. Thanks Gator & Clay.

I am with Stutter, video drivers for notebooks should always be downloaded from the manufacturers site as they often do tweaking beyond what ATI has support for with their drivers.

The link that was previously given to me apparently did help, but only a little. His computer's a Dell Laptop (no other info about it at this time, as I'm going to bed)

Can someone else suggest a specific download or some-such?
