I've been playing overwatch for the last few days and i have been really enjoying it. I think i feel the same way masterchef feels and that is that this reminds me a lot of TF2 when it first came out. A lot of fun and a lot of variety. Add me if you all want to play this or any other blizz game I am always up for something.

Looks like I'm going to be the only one to complain.


I have yet to have the kind of match where I'm just on the edge of my seat for 10 minutes plus, the kind of feeling you get where you have an extended hold on the final point of dustbowl with constant pressure from the attacking team, then have a big push at the end. Maybe it will happen, but for some reason I'm feeling like the way the game is built right now, it simply isn't possible.

Also, in every single match that I've played so far, I've been able to easily and accurately predict the winner at the 75% point of the match. In TF2, I think as much as 25% of the time I couldn't.

That said, it is a fun game and I'm going to be buying it. I'm CrankyHero#1763

BB i think that is a very fair assessment. I am not sure we will ever experience the excitement that dustbowl had to offer. I am not as good as fortune telling as you but the game is very dependent on team selection than TF2. I always felt in TF2 you could have a semi bad team set up and still win or at least get close to winning. In overwatch if there is a bad team selection (especially if the team can't play who they picked) then you are going to get crushed especially on the attack/defend maps.

All in all i am really enjoying overwatch right now. I am curious what the game will be like when it goes live.

It feels a ton slower, and TF2 kept my attention a lot longer then this game has.... and I actually enjoy shooters but this one feels more tactical and slow paced then a dedicated blow em up shooter

I'm not sure what heroes your playing Perfect Villian but overall the pace of combat seems fast to me, overall I've heard some people complain the combat is too fast. If your hiding behind the Knight guy's shield it can be really slow but if your jumping in and out with Tracer, it can get pretty hectic.

Overall I think a core issue for some people is that this is much closer to the 6v6 5 CP point style of TF2 then the goldrush/dustbowl/warpath style where matches are slow but TTK (time to kill) is low.

I personally really like that style and I enjoy the sort of in-and-out style matches where every push on offense counts rather then dustbowl's "well eventually we'll get an ubercharge to push through".

Hey gang, long time no see/chat

I wanted to add to this that I was at PAX and asked a lot of questions. Currently they do have the capability for people to run their own servers (that's the "custom game" option). They were not really saying if you could or couldn't at release because they were still trying to figure that out on how they wanted to proceed.

What I'm saying is that it may very well be that we have the capability of running our own server and if that's the case I fully expect theville to have one so I can play with you guys again

I've quite a few characters and it still feels really slow and it tends to kill my enjoyment pretty quickly so I can't play for long periods of time due to this
