New 8800 GTS
Well guys i havent been playing DOD much recently, mostly being cause i wanted to enjoy it more without low fps. So i have gone out and bought an 8800GTS. it should come b4 the weeks end. I could finally be able to enjoy the source engine and play DOD without 20 FPS. Hope to see you guys on!

Just be sure your Power Supply can handle it! They can suck up to (I think) 30 amps. That is about 360 watts for the video alone. I got one, but also got an 850 Watt monolithic supply.

that is certanly one thing to pay very close attn to. when i built my new system i had to hunt down a PSU with 36 amp 12v rails for my two 8800 Ultras. and yes Duke, 30amps on the 12v rail for the GTS. the GTX is 36amps. i have a ginourmous 1000w PSU for my stoof. the watts are something you relly shouldnt pay attn to. its the Amperes on the 12v rail.

Re: New 8800 GTS
I'm envious!
I recently did a small upgrade from my Radeon X1300 Pro to a X1950 Pro... Was pretty inexpensive as it is really more of a "mid-range" card, and I had to grab a new PSU as well. I'm enjoying the hell out of it, so your 8800 GTS should be an absolute riot.
How much do those things cost these days?

Well the EVGA 8800 GTS 320 MB cost me 279$. As for the PSU i was talking to a buddy from Natural Selection and he was telling me a bunch about it. He told me that the min requirements on the Video card manufacturers sites are over exaggerated. This is the PSU that i bought along with it for grand total of 375$ Enermax
