I've watched a few so far this season.
Continuations for Sword Art Online and Jormungand (and to my shame, MuvLuv Alternate: Total Eclipse)
Shin Sekai Yori
Robotics Notes
Psycho Pass
Ixion Saga DT (One long series of nut jokes)

I am unsure what to watch next, i was thinking Gunslinger Girl or Fate Stay Night.
Gunlinger girl is epic. Which Berserk did you see? The movie? The series? Either way you have to read the manga to get the full story.

The end? You mean the beginning.

What crimson said, the TV series is just the backstory for the manga. It covers one arc.
The actual manga is over 350 chapters last I checked, and still going.

The anime ends in book 13. From memory I know there's at least 45 books.

Edit: There's 37 books.

Forum posts about shows are usually positive, because it can be viewed badly to be going against the hivemind or just hating. Unless you're on /a/, where everybody hates everything, unless the hivemind happens to like it.

It did occur to me, though, that the reason I hate some shows while I stare blankly with seething hatred at forum posts proclaiming that the episode they just watched is The Best Thing Ever, is that I'm a lot older than many fora's posting demographic.

Though I suppose it doesn't help that I'm only watching a couple of these shows to heckle them. On the plus side, this means that while there's a bleepton of merchandise coming out for one of these, I'm not going to buy any of it.

Also: Given a sword with a balance near the handle and an opponent's weapon balanced toward slashing, it would seem that a valid approach to counter this would be to stab in return, as with a rapier. Except that the weapon in question is curved, so the approach taken was to take more swings.

Why the hell does an anime have to use Flynning?

Finally watched Accel World. Best anime I've seen in quite some time.

Somebody had a lot of free time. Featuring a cameo that you would totally not expect. And while we're at it, the ED.

I picked up Zetsuen no Tempest as it is a bones show. I am really liking it so far. It feels like Darker than Black to me, except it makes far more sense. That's probably because it actually has source material to follow unlike DtB did. lol.

This basically states sensha-do was introduced in the 1920s, and with the advancement of technology in IFVs as well as involvement of women, it had since then become a worldwide culture & participatory event.

In FILE 4: The world of GIRLPAN () is a world where Chivalry and Bushido still exist. Tanks become a worldwide phenomenon because in the world of GIRLPAN, they aren't machines to run over each other, but produced for female participants to compete with the elegance of martial spirit. This gave the tank duels a certain romantic air. Participating in the art was said to give women willpower and strength. Men are prohibited from operating tanks because it was considered heresy and fear that their involvement would start a total war.

Apparently, the world wars never occurred.

... ...

Right. Take it as you will.
Someone did an alternate translation on that info last page:

Quote:
In the world of [Garupan], chivalry and bushido are completely alive, and men depending on tanks gives off a wicked/wrong feeling.

Also, men using tanks could lead to a terrible all-out war any time. Panzerkraft became popular instead in this world, were women are the rule in bushido. (can't read the kanji after 大) Tanks aren't something to simply run-over your enemy in war, as it wouldn't be romantic. Maybe in this world, woman are stronger and have a more lively existence than we might think
The alternate translation doesn't carry the "men aren't allowed" as an explicit rule, but simply as a stigma instead. Not sure which of the translations is more accurate in this case.

If you liked Accel World, check out Sword Art Online. Same author. Similar ideas of virtual worlds. There are theories that the SAO world and AW worlds are the same world, mostly due to the fact that technology shown in AW is from SAO, namely NervGear and the Brain Implant Chip. SAO was the author's original entry to a light novel contest, but it was too long so the next time he entered he entered with Accel World.

Also, there are theories floating around that Kuroyuki-hime is the daughter of the main characters in SAO even though the author has "denied" it. While the evidence isn't overwhelming it isn't exactly non existent. I could see it happening. It would also explain why she is 1. A badass and 2. Never given a proper name. If her name was given as Kirigaya Sachi...well...the connection would be irrefutable.

So... everything I've seen so far indicates that Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0 is completely batbleepin' crazy.

UTW translated the preview and it looks like it is going to be fun. Of course, the preview is spoiler-tastic so watch at your own risk.

BTW, Winter 2013 season sucks. There is one show that looks interesting. Thank god I have Robotics; Notes that continues into the season otherwise I there would be a dearth of things to watch.
