Well going on Ben's 1300 experience.

Maybe something like this.

There are some other low profile cards. I use these in slim line pc's at work. Thats how I know about them.

I just have some general info that might help. Im guessing any 512mb vid card would run source 32 fps or more at least on medium settings 1024x768. (of course the more memory the better)Id go PCI just to keep cost down. as far as I know there are some small 512 cards out there. Just need to find one thats compatible. Id check with the manufacturer.

With a 512MB card, you should easily be getting 60+fps @ 1024x768 on source.
I think I got around 32-60 with my old Radeon x9800 256MB card @ 1024x768 (got a new monitor and card now :D).

Bottom line, you should be able to get a really good video card to run source for about $75-$100 now. Check newegg.com (those bastids have never sent me anything for my endorsements  )

Also, check the type of memory the card has. I'm told that a 256MB GDDR3 card is typically faster than a 512MB GDDR2. I've never benchmarked etc. That's just what I was told.

Yup was just reading about the ATI 2600XT I think it was PCI-E $ 149.00 Core clock 800 Mhz Memory 256MB GDD4 (1.1 GHz) :). Which should run it nicely. The good thing is it's a rather small card. It's not all bulky and 3' long with 6" high heat pipes and fan...lol It's actually the size of of a standard pci card from what I can see. Say like a 9800 pro. It's HD as well which is a bonus and DX10 capatile.

Ummm not sure what case he has so not sure....lol It was just a card a read a review on and it was a decent card for a little price. :)

I guess he could cut a slot in the side of the case for the card to fit the make a cover for it :). Case mods are always fun. I'm going to be staring one here soon from the bottom up so it fits in my entertainment center the way I want it....lol Should be fun atleast this way I can use Multi PS and keep it clean and wires where I want them. I have the Thermaltake Tsunami case right now which is huge and clean, but it don't quite fit :(. Good case though if anyone is looking for one. I stay about 31-35c idle and 40-45c under heavy load. with the stock cooling.

Anywho back to the card yeah not sure if they fit a standard card or not. Kind of a waiste of PCI-E if you can't use it :(.

I also have a Thermaltake Tsunami! Biggest case I've ever seen. Lots o airflow and space to stash wires. You can smuggle things across borders in 1 of those.

Although, my p4 socket 478 is feeling a bit dated, mobo can only hold 2 m ram fsb, is a bit slow. Also the SATA doesn't work on it. Plays source though! Nvidia 256mb 6600gt does 54-60 fps.

need a small card and wanna run source, 7600 series nVidia cards will do fine. nothing like my two 8800 Ultras, max fps ive clocked is 240, i get a steady 120-180, low is 90. then again, i had to mod my case to fit the water cooling pump, yes they are that big.

Check the dimensions, but that case should be able to fit any single slot video card such as a 7600 or 7900 from nVidia, both will run source nicely.
