Ben's Computer in a Suitcase

Post by Gen.Ben » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:29 pm

Well... I was extremely bored today, and decided I was going to do something... I had an ok computer laying around, and a hard shelled suitcase.

I thought Compuer + Suitcase = Portable computer to bring to friends house to LAN... ect..

I am pretty tired so I am going to make this quick.

Here is a preview

Here is a bunch of more pictures, I compressed them so it is a smaller file.

I plan on adding some case fans, neon lights and whatever else I can get my paws on!

I will update when I change something to it, also, I will get a video of me running it when I finish installing windows.

MacGyver FTW! The man could make a bazooka out of a bicycle using only his swiss army knife. How can you win against that? :D

There is a question about the haircut though. I just went to a family reunion. My cousin, who is significantly younger than me, remarked horrified "You had a mullet?!?!" after viewing an old picture. My response was, "It was the '80s. Almost everyone had a mullet at one time or another."

EDIT: And no, I will NOT post that picture. :lol:

I'll post my 80's hair pic if you will! (though not a mullet )

Also, nice usage of zip ties! Did they have those in the 80's?

This is a question I have for people who know a fair bit about PC's or electronics.

To turn the computer on, I have to short the PWR ON pins, Is there any buttons that I could buy that come with the female connectors to hook them up to the PWR ON, RESET and so fourth?

===Update===

Added one intake 120mm fan, and one outake 120mm fan.

You can go to a RadioShack or a similar electronic parts store, they should have buttons with the correct wiring.
Or you could strip out the power button from an older case, at least that would have the correct wiring out of the box.
