Space Rangers 2 is worth a look.

I'll look into rangers 2.

As far as sin goes I felt that was just an RTS. But I guess it does fall into the category..

Basically, there are so many control options, and good enough AI, that it really feels like you're controlling things in turns, but it actually happens in real time as you give the orders.

It may have an incredibly large learning curve but once you get passed that its a pretty good game that fits the criteria you want.
