You trying to teach me how to play? I know how to play the game. Hell, I don't pick a weapon up unless it's in the top 3 of the money list. I don't want to kill just to kill. I go for the money.
What I'm saying is on smaller ships, there is a lot of congestion with 16 players.
I wasn't directing it at you, it was just general advice. If anything it was more directed at Dog, who's new to the game.
Don't pity me!

Oh, carry on then.
IMO, it kinda feels like 32-man TF2. Yeah, some people enjoy it but to others it feels like a clusterfark.
Player count was actually lowered from 18 to 16 a couple of months back, and as it sits now it's one of the lower count servers (I think there was actually a 32 person server running at one point in time - yikes!)
For the most part, maps like Batavier and Atalanta are the ones that really start to get crowded with 10+ people, and I think that's mostly because people tend to huddle. I had removed Cyclops (The ridiculously huge map) a while back since the server was never getting that full. I am going to look at a way to try and get some balance. How's that sound?

It's a Catch 22. If you raise the player count, you get more people. You get more people and it becomes more popular. The problem with having more people is that the quality of the games suffers. If you lower the player count, you shut out people who want to play but the quality and intensity of the games goes up.
It's a no win situation really. Just gotta pick a direction and go with it.
IMO, it's much more fun and intense when you have 8 or *maybe* 10 people running around. The way it is with 16 the rounds end way too quickly.

Oh awesome, I'll definitely hop on there the next time I get the urge to play. Good on you guys for keeping this game alive. It needs as much support as it can get!

Re: New Ship server
I'm not sure I'll play very much. I was never very good at the game, and my ping on the server is just a little too much for me to handle. (350 approx, on average)
With the addition of TeamSpeak, however, I may drop in on occasion to play as just a passenger/spectator. Or maybe an actual player if I'm feeling particularly masochistic.

Re: New Ship server
Weird...the server somehow managed to get repassworded.
It should be open now - it was only passworded for an event we had.
