Yeah, that's unfortunate. I guess it means no new mysteries to solve at least. Back to staring at countdowns ...TheCarpe wrote:From the wiki: "The email to Kotaku turns out to be a scam by the band The Good Philosophy to get people to buy their new song. Audiosurf is about to finish. I think it was one of the biggest-selling games out of this pack; it's certainly been around for awhile. How much time will it bump off?
Additionally, this site was previously predicting a 2:30 AM release, well after the actual guaranteed release time at this point. However, their projection has now shifted back to 1:45 AM, still after the guaranteed release but 45 minutes earlier than before. This seems to confirm a significant speed increase!

Re: #PotatoFoolsDay ARG
I'll be interested to see. Audiosurf practically stopped dead overnight - it was around 80% complete at 2 AM, and 90% when I got home from class 1:30 PM this afternoon. KF and The Ball both posted massively disproportionate leaps. KF was ridiculously slow despite huge numbers of players, and The Ball was very slow, because nobody was playing it. Both have launched forward.
--edit--
Audiosurf is now complete, and gave the biggest boost by far of any game yet - 1:24:30.
Countdown is now targetting a couple minutes after three AM Eastern/Midnight Pacific.

Re: #PotatoFoolsDay ARG
Audiosurf is now done. It appears to have taken off a massive amount of time - almost 90 minutes! Release time is about 12:05 AM tomorrow now.
Once The Ball is done, it'll be before midnight!
Also note how far the potatoes have gone down. If they were at 500,000 when they started, it's almost 1/4 of the way down already. They'll be finished this evening.

At this rate, it looks like the game will be released in approximately about hours.

So, the collective efforts of a bunch of people have shaved a few minutes from the release time?

A new interview with one of the people who "disappeared."
There it is: no Episode 3 connection. Not big surprise.

The Ball complete, for another 54:38
The "potatos" appear to simply be forcing the other games to load faster and faster, as if they were being played. They're all shooting towards completion at a quick clip.
