Summer Plans?

Post by loka » Sun May 27, 2007 7:18 pm

With the end of school near...or already here...people start to enjoy the break. So...What's everyone up to this summer?

I'm in the midst of going to Puerto Rico in 3 weeks, and staying there for "3 weeks" but I'm trying to just make it a week for me(i really just want to make money while i can) while I start getting acquainted with my first ever roommate in my first dorm at college and getting surgery in July (yippee) while attending as many Red Sox games as possible, and working at my engineering job.

My debut book is being released this fall, so this summer will be full of preparations. In August I start my 'debut' tour throughout Canada and some states, maybe more depending. So basically I'll spend it working on more stuff, while preparing for those events. My next project will start anytime now, once i'm ready...so that will take up most of my time. I'm planning on going up to a cottage in Northern Ontario for a week at the end of July, try to relax and take in some peace and quiet with no one around. Not that the days are killer or anything.

I think this summer will be full of bike rides and time spent down at the water front too. Can't forget the summer nights, drink up :)

I'm working at an internship all summer. Other than that I just plan to spend the weekends riding my bike around and having a few beers :D

I guess I have to find a new place to live in a month or so too.

LOL loka...you remind me of Chuck Norris...you are the only person I've ever heard of who is excited (yippee) about surgery :D

We are starting a 2 week break, with fieldtrips every day...science museums, children's museums, petting zoo's, hikes etc. Then school starts again for us. We are taking off every now and again, have 2 week-long camping trips coming up in June and July, but our main holiday will be in December and January when we plan a trip to S.Africa for 5 weeks (our longest one since moving here) which is going to be pretty much chock full of activities and day trips and even a week vacation to Durb's. My dad is looking for volunteers to join him in a hot air balloon and of course we are NOT going to let that opportunity go by :D oh, boy, can't wait!!

MY wife and I are heading off to Riviera Maya, Mexico in June, then taking the summer off from school to think things through in my life.

My wife becomes an RN this summer, so we're going through a pretty major transition.

I am taking my eldest daughter to Europe this summer. We are going for one month. We will land in London and spend a week there, then we will fly to Madrid, stay there for a few days and drive down to my condo in Malaga for a week, we will visit Morocco and then travel to Barcelona for one week.

After this holiday I will need a holiday, so I am thinking... of may be Napa Valleys....?
