Sorry if I missed anyone, my memory is bad for some reason.
I had almost completely forgotten about the likes of Frosty of Papaweasy. They were fun to play with.

I kinda remember it as a whole, not single people really.

I could never forget Papaweasy, BlueRuler, Ellroy, Dog, Cooper, JD, Deslock, Ricen, Squirrel, Shewolf, Kerrigan, Kahlan Amnell, Pink Boots, . . . . (the list goes on and on, now that I think about it.)

I think you had another name back in when you first joined us. I seem to recall you being on Badlands with us, early on, which probably puts it on TV7, though possibly TV1.

Just occured to me it can be looked up in your stats. Earliest name shown is "{2FF} SHANNON-Uber Trooper(TV)"

Well, I will check the original thread in a moment but I will put on my old farts hat and reply with the following:

Back when I started playing at the Ville it was called TurkeyburgerVille and the 3 regs I come to know well were Herman Munster (changed his name to Robert E. Lee) JohnCarterofMars and Cadman. After that its been a blur of Villuns, many that have moved on over the years, many that are still here.

Its the people that make this place great, and of course your all great people :)

Ain't that the truth. Avantiville + grenades makes me warmer then a cup o' hot chocolate & sittin next to the fire.

Its cool hearing you old farts reminisce. If i had known of the epic gaming to be had back in the day, i'm sure I woulda been there, I've played all these games for years now. My ville time starts in 2007 with TF2, praise the lard!
Yum... lard :D

My first memories here at the ville involve NeoTF. I had been playing TFC for a little while, NeoTF was a big leap in gaming as far as I was concerned. It required learning how to bind keys and using commands etc...

I think it was in 2002 when I joined the forums.

I came to website to ask questions about the game, after a few visits, I notice an other ville server running a game called Day of Defeat. I was hooked from Day 1!

We were (back then) a small group of average to above average players who enjoyed kicking the crap out of each other and saying gg at the end. It was much like a metal moshpit without the broken nose.

TFC on Avanti was some of the most intense gaming I have ever played. TF2 is slower and doesn't compare to the pure rush that TFC had. TF2 is still a very good game. It is just a slightly slower paced game. The one thing that I like on TF2 over TFC is the required teamwork. On TFC you could go "John Wayne" and get away with it. I think it's harder to do on TF2.

Then again, I haven't played since August.
