Until I installed Windows7, I used nothing but FireFox. Now MSE is installed and I guess it is working.

At the office we use a TrendMicro package that I like, but with IE and dare I say stupid users, preventing Spyware is pretty much impossible.

Like most folks here, I use MSSE and common sense.

I have some other stuff available in reserve, like Spybot, AdAware, Dr. Web FixIt, etc, but I don't keep them installed.

I use Avira Free Antivirus 2010 and Malware Bytes for automated scanning. At the first sign of any trouble I use Autoruns and Process Explorer to check for any unusual dll or sys files running. I wouldn't run anything at all if I didn't repair infected computers on a regular basis. One small mistake can lead to a reinstall of my OS and waste an afternoon.

At work, we use NOD32 which works like a charm. I was using it up until February, when I made the switch to MSSE.

Other than that, I run nothing. Hell, I even have my computer bypassing my router and I haven't experienced any issues.

I just started using MSSE after my Norton subscription finally ended. Wish I had switched over a long time ago.

common sense
Avast
MalwareBytes

The latter two haven't flagged anything for many months. The first one sets off alarms all the time. :D

Ive used no security software on my netbook ever and nothing has ever happened. If I find that something might be awry, I will start up Avast and do a boot-time scan. Same goes for my desktop right now.
