I know you love the SR (Scottish Resistance), but I have to disagree and say that it sucks for blowing up sentries... Here's why:Traddles wrote:Yeah, I dunno, I was just trying to fit in. I generally try to use full names for things. I'll stop trying to fit in with the "cool kids" now =p
The scottish resistance is awesome at blowing up sentries (as opposed to "the sr is awesome at blowing up sg's")
Speaking of which, I always kind of wondered at people when I would hear them say "GAH, BACK UP, THERE's AN SG OUT THERE". "sentry" and "sg" have the same number of syllables and "ess gee" even seems tougher to say than "sentry" when you're staring down a krit rocket and are trying to get off a quick message to your team before you explode into soup.
1.) You have to be looking directly at the sentry (most likely via ubercharge or being out of range of the sentry) to det the stickies to blow it up.
EDIT: Read through more of the post... so you can det the SR stickies just by looking in the direction even if you can't see the stickies themselves? Did not know this... never seemed to work for me.
2.) The prime rate of the SR sucks... by the time you fire enough out to blow up sentries better than regular stickies either an enemy pyro has most likely airblasted the stickies or someone else has simply destroyed them.
3.) The more stickies you're firing at the sentries, the more vulnerable you are to other player's attacks.
I prefer the Stickies and shooting them around the corner or over the ridge, etc... and then detting them without having to look at them. It works much better.
I still say... The only good thing about the SR is the taunt! To fix the SR, I think that Valve could simply make it to where SR stickies could not be destroyed or airblasted by any means (like regular stickies were when the game first came out). The trade-off of having to look at the stickies is already too severe. If I'm going to give up my Stickybomb launcher I'd take the Chargin' Targe any day over the SR.
Another way they could balance it is to allow there to be a full 14 stickies loaded without having to reload after 8.
