I'm not aware of something that does that.

Well, I found out what the problem is, but now I have a bigger problem. I just finally got an error saying
"Address a problem with ATI Graphics Driver
ATI Graphics Driver has stopped working properly."
It only said it twice. It doesn't say it anymore. Just get the .exe error now and nothing else.

Bigger problem. The latest drivers are installed. My other problem. Newegg won't replace it because my 30-day is up. I don't want it replaced anyways because the drivers don't work, so getting another card would be pointless. I have to contact Gigabyte for manufacture warranty. But no representative picks up for any department. So I feel screwed right now out of 170 bucks.

yeah newegg's customer service is crap now. What you used to have 1 year to return must now be returned w/in 30 days.

Try gigabyte when it isn't a holiday.

A lot of people have the 31st and the 1st off.

Yeah I am going to try and call again on Monday.

I was really hoping the 5770 was going to work. It was priced good with dx11 and good rates in my games. I found that there isn't much on the internet about Radeon cards when I was searching for a solution. Now I have to find another card to get. :/ I think I might get a 9800GTX+. I am not sure if I want to try a Radeon card again. When I was trying to find a solution for my problem I kept reading about how bad the crossfire was for the cards and how bad the drivers are.

Also, roll back to 9.11 drivers if the 9.12 drivers are giving you trouble, ragroz.

I tried that but I can't rollback because I don't have a previous driver installed b4 the latest. I tried to install 9.11 and 9.10 with 9.12 disabled and uninstalled but it just keeps giving me 9.12 automatically and I have it disabled so it shouldnt give me anything automatically. I don't know. I am going to try a few more things.

Well I used 9.11 drivers, 9.10 and 9.9. I even tried 9.12 hotfix drivers and that all those didn't work. I got my ram and swapped that out, didn't work. Used both so 4GB ram didn't help. I took out my radeon 5770 and put back in my geforce 7950gt. updated those drivers, turned the graphics all the way down and disabled, didnt work either. It still continues to close after awhile of playing and giving me the .exe error. Anyone have any ideas?

did you notice the card or your CPU overheating? You said it took 20 minutes to happen, so i figure overheating is the culprit.

Well there isn't any heat coming from the computer. The fan out the back is blowing cold air. I even opened the case and put my hand next to the gpu and cpu and I don't feel any heat. Even after I put my hand next to it right after it crashes. I downloaded speed fan. And its saying I am running between 60-80C when not playing a game with my gpu and -64C with my cpu. When I start playing though it gets up to 100-110C with my gpu it is saying. But there isn't really much heat coming unless my hand is directly on the gpu. How would I fix the overheating problem other than another fan?

64c is getting into the dangerous temp zone for an AMD processor iirc.

Is your 5770 the first type (looks similar to the 58xx series) that blows the exhaust air outside the case, or is it the 2nd type that has a similar hsf to the 5750, so the hot air mainly remains in the case?

If it is the latter, it sounds like you need more case fans.

Well, going by your cpu temps it sounds like you need more case fans anyway, assuming your case has room for them to be mounted.

You should be able to monitor your gpu's fan speed and temp in the CCC, if it is anything like that I encountered in a machine I upgraded with a 4670.

-64c is high? And sorry I was using my Nvidia card when doing the temperature testing. I just put my ATI back in and yes it has a little vent in the back of the case (nvidia doesn't have that). My case is a mid tower(I wanted to get a bigger one already I guess this gives me a real reason now) but the mid tower I have now has a a fan in the back blowing out, front blowing in, and two side vents(no fan though not sure if I can put one there, there is no place to screw one so I never put one) then the fan on the cpu and gpu. But I am going to check temps for the Radeon 5770 right now. I'll post back with the results.

EDIT: Right now at idle after just putting my card in, through CCC it says the card is at 0% Activity, 35% Fan Speed, and 38*C

ATI Overdrive is at default, I never messed with anything and is locked. GPU Clock: 850MHZ, Memory Clock: 1200MHz, Manual Fan Control: 50%
Current Values are GPU Clock: 157MHz, Memory Clock: 300MHz

SpeedFan isn't even coming up with a GPU temp but it is saying CPU is still -64C. Basically same stuff as it said before.

both variants of the 5770 have a vent on the rear panel. The issue is what does the card itself look like.

Also my athlon x2 only gets around 45c under load. You may want to clean the dust out of your hsf if that is an issue.

If your gpu is overheating you will want to RMA it. They shouldnt overheat and lock up with automatic fan control on.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

looks just like that.

Left4dead just keeps closing to desktop(no left4dead.exe so far). I am able to play a little bit longer now with tf2. I turned the front fan on high, it was on medium, and the side of the case is open. I am not able to quickly alt tab to CCC right after the tf2.exe error but when I see the temp its at about 52C
