Gave my TV to recycling yesterday

Post by MMX » Sun Sep 20, 2009 5:04 am

You might think I replaced it with a newer one, but no.

I just got rid of my dusty TV as I was not using it for at least 2 years now.

Now I have more space in my room, yay :)

Anyone else who is not using a TV at all, like I do?

Good for you, MMX!

I use my TV to watch DVDs and Mad Men. Unfortunately, I have just made an appeasement agreement in which I shall purchase a third TV for the house so TV canbe watched in the bedroom while someone plays TF2 at night.

If I had a monitor bigger than my TV than I wouldn't need it anymore. =D

Well... only if it has the right inputs, I suppose...

I was upset when I purchased my big plasma...I went to hook up my computer in order to do some awesome one of a kind TF2'ing and alas the resolution was 1024 X 768.

I mean really...

I have decided that my only option now is to move the plasma into my room as an upgrade and purchase an HD projector (to hand from the ceiling) for my living room :-) Once I do this the living room is wide enough I was thinking about putting in 3 rooms of thearter style seeting but I'm not sure the wife will go for that :-) but hey I can dream...

Only time I ever use my TV is when I play my consoles and watch DVDs. It's 27'', big as a truck, has a crack in the front housing, and I got it for free when a friend didn't have room for it anymore :D

As for actual watching TV, nah. I don't have cable and though I have one of the converter box thingies, I don't even have it hooked up. Hulu serves my needs, and for what isn't there, my parents can record on their DVR and I can watch it at their place.

I have a ceiling mounted projector for movies. It is great. You should get one.

I watch sports a lot, and ESPN 360 doesn't cover everything I want to watch :( Otherwise, my computer serves the needs of everything else.

As soon as cable stops being a separate service from the internet (like it should) is when I no longer watch cable. My TV will go nowhere though, but it shall become a
monitor.

I've never had one in the first place.

If there is a show that is interesting I can watch it on the interwebs.

Nope. Don't have cable. Haven't used our tv in forever, we only use it to play on the Wii. Since we're living with my parents for the momento, I just use their tv to watch Mythbusters/Dirty jobs or some other science show every now and then.
