I rarely use this verbage to describe patches/updates, but this new system is BROKE. Man that bonk energy drink sure looks like a piece of crap now that I have 4 of them. What will really be great is when I have all of the weapons already unlocked and I still keep getting another Sandvich every hour for the rest of my time playing TF2.

I do have to chime in and say this new system is a fail. I think Valve had the right intentions but implemented a system not yet complete.

Now if they don't fix this, just imagine the next update. More items to being able to drop for so few you actually need. This will get worse every time. I'm just waiting for someone to get the drop they have been waiting for days even weeks to get and only to realize they didn't get it because their backpack was full! :)

The only good I see to come from this system is to implement Steam credits (steam funny money or discounts) as rare drops to purchase (best to just give a small discount) games on steam. That would be nice, but fix the afk, spectating, idle servers and make it only when you are actually playing.

On a side note I am afraid to count up my playing hours over the weekend but I was lucky enough to get 2/6 of the new unlocks and the 2nd was literally right before logging for the weekend.

You couldn't be more wrong. It's absolutely pouring non-stop and I almost got my eye taken out with dozens of umbrellas.

And yes, I am sitting on an idle server to try to get the new upgrades...why I cant say but its pointless to try for the achievements now as they dont earn you the upgrades.

I dunno, perhaps its time to go back to DOD:S, at least they have not done silly things there yet.
I agree

Someone came up with a silly and funny analogy for this new system.

-- Analogies are like rocks. They're hard. And stuff.

I went to a deli for lunch today, excited to try something from their new deluxe menu. They have a regular menu that most people go with, but the deluxe menu is worth the wait, and very rewarding. The new soup looked worth a try even though it wasn't usually my thing, but the penne pasta looked fantastic. Normally the deli had a line you had to wait in. It would take a little while, and sure some people complained about it, Some would even sneak ahead in line, but really it didn't take long.

Today they started a new method. Now everything is free, you take a number and wait. Strangely the numbers are all scrambled. I look around and see other people waiting. I ask this old guy next to me and he says he has been waiting for 2 hours. Just then some kid walks in, bumping into walls and such, obviously new to delis. 2 seconds later his number comes up and he is given a giant pizza. The old guy and I exchange glances then go back to waiting. Man, I want that pasta!

Ding! Finally my number is called. Wait. What? A Tuna Salad sandwich? I've had this before. In fact, I still have the moldy leftovers in my fridge. I approach the craggy old woman at the deli counter to explain the mix up. She just mutters something about everyone deserves a Tuna Salad Sandwich and points for me to take another number. Again I wait.

I look around and notice a room off to the side full of people. I walk in and it was the most bizarre thing. They all just stood there and had blank vacant stares, waiting for their number to be called. I see a guy with 4 cups of coffee, and another with 3 Caesar salads.

Ding! Oh, my number was called again. ... Another Tuna Salad Sandwich. **** me. Annoyed I throw it and the first in the trash.

I see a guy walk by with two mason jars of what I can only imagine is lemonade, and another guy, (or is that a woman?) with 3 roasted corn-on-the-cobs. That old guy still has nothing. I go to that side room and try staring off into space.

After Who know how long, I pop out of my daydream to find I have now been given 2 cheese fries, 2 Chocolate Fudge Cakes, and another Tuna -wait for it- ******* Salad Sandwich.

I remember when I got my first Chocolate Fudge Cake. They were rare and very exclusive - something to envy. I had to save up, and wait a long time, but it was sooo sweet and tasty. But now, as I have 3 of them I take a bite and find it was experience that made it so sweet, and that is gone.

I now see a dozen more rooms full of people with vacant stares, all just waiting soullessly. Some people are now standing around in the deli yelling they want to trade. One kid wont stop begging for my Chocolate Fudge Cake. The only thing he has in trade is a Tuna Salad Sandwich. I accept just to make him go away.

The old man? Hes gone now. He was last seen looking at all the blank faces with a single tear running down his cheek. As for me? I think I've lost my appetite.

- Added Sniper/Spy milestone achievements as an additional way players can get the new unlockables
Arena Mode:
[tab] - Added tf_arena_use_queue server convar. Turn this on to get the old queue behavior. Default is off
[tab] - Added tf_arena_round_time to set a timelimit on the round
- Added the userid of the player who built the teleporter to the "player_teleported" event
- Fixed player killed event causing server crash
- Fixed Spies not being telefragged when standing on an enemy teleporter exit with the Dead Ringer enabled
- Fixed attackers seeing the mini-crit particle effect for full crits if the victim has the Jarate effect enabled
- Fixed the Ambassador not doing damage to buildings
- Fixed Spies disguised as their own team not drawing blood effects
- Fixed players killed by flaming arrows not showing the appropriate death icon
:rofl:MFAO!

Valve's grand experiment in random item gifting fails to the point of them crawling back to the old achievement system. I credit Valve this much: the first step in fixing a problem of your own making is acknowledging that you were in error.

Now, where to find a good ol' fashioned farming server... at this hour? :skelly:
