Re: Lag on TV8
Its still quite bad at times. Has the hosting company given any indication as to why?

Re: Lag on TV8
I know the lag that I'm still getting isn't related to ping, it isn't a network issue at all IMO. The server still chokes like it can't keep up with the game when a bunch of stuff is going on. TV8 gets almost 100% of my playtime these days, and I've been getting annoyed by it more and more.

Re: Lag on TV8
The lag comes in spurts and it comes for everyone. I'm thinking that it is hardware-related instead of network-related.

If you look at the graph at the bottom showing a years worth of activity, there is a dramatic increase in FPS at the beginning of March, which is about the same time the lag spurts started that I noticed. An increase in average FPS should be a good thing I would think, but then again FPS might not even mean frames per second in this case. Anyone who knows more about this stuff care to elaborate?

Re: Lag on TV8
I agree with everyone that the lag is probably hardware related, but I figured I'd throw my tracert in here for the hell of it. I do have a large spike in there, but doesn't look like other people are having it at the same place...

Just thought I'd pile on with my results.

Re: Lag on TV8
Horrible lag again last night. I got on a little late but noticed the worst lag at ~9:45 cst. I would also like to point out that I really only remember having lag issues when 1 team is fighting for the last cap. Its usually around the "elbow" choke point by the fence, the last courtyard, and especially if there is a battle at the last cap. There could be lag at other points on the map but I'm not recalling having any issues. Anyone else concur or recognize lag in other places?
btw I keep forgetting to do a trace route from home (@work now) but I'm only 5 or 6 hops from the datacenter this is hosted. I always have a 5-10 ping in game, I just can't see it being network lag.

You know, I notice that too. Maybe it's because so many games can hold there for several minutes, but all the big lagspikes seem to hit right at that elbow just after the fence.

I have noticed this also. I can't remember ever experiencing the same kind of lag when fighting on other parts of the map.

I've seen it at least twice while standing on the roof of the point, but I can't remember where else.
