In my opinion, absolutely not.[/quote]

Especially if he is a minor. There could be other issues that arise from that.

What will it do to us if we do post on here? Seems it can't do to much. It does not seem like it can do to much bad to post it on here.

its not likely we will get in trouble, but its just courtesy to not divulge information that need not be posted. it is very easy to find things out about someone once you know their name and relative area.

I guess I don't wanna be dragged in to court if this goes legal so I'm just trying to help figure something out about this guy. It seems you know everything you need to know about him if you know his phone number and home address. How did you find those out?

well pretty much arfy, everything has been figured out about this guy, like everything. Deuce has it covered and a few others know, and are gonna help hash this out, but its all up to Valve now as to what happens.

Ha arfy, take a deep breath. Now that we know who he is, we'd rather he not know. We'll see what Steam wants to do with it. We don't want this numbnuts to start hiding things b/c he's been found out. We'll just sit tight for now and see what happens.

The only people that need to know the information are the ones that had their accounts stolen so that they can report it to the authorities.

Yes.

Just let us know what happens, probably will take a long time.

Quick question Deuce, did myspace play any part in your investigation?

Nah, his parent will lawyer up and then we'll never get anything done here. As far as I can tell, Valve and the police are the only ones who should be given any info. Anyone else could compromise the investigation.

The parent could lawyer up, but I doubt it would do him much good; ZR and I both got the same information from two completely different, public routes; the kid's fingerprints are all over this mess.

That being said, I do think that once ZR gets his response from steam, we should take this to the federal authorities and only to them. This kid is going to be on the hook for at least six counts of wire fraud, more if Valve connects his IP to other accounts. I vote we use the multiple offenses, as well as all the background information we can bring to bear on his general attitude and activities to try and have him tried as an adult. Considering where he lives, I think we would stand a decent shot at it. Wirefraud is a federal felony and carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
