If you're using wireless on one pc, goto network connections and while holding down ctrl, click the wireless and wire connections. Right click the WIRELESS connection and select bridge connections. When that's done connect the two computers with an ethernet cord and voila.

If you have to wired ports, do the same just right click the connection with internet

its how i get internet to my 360 ;)

or, if you have a crossover cable use that :P

Most routers have multiple ethernet ports and will function both as a networking switch and as a router.

2 Mbps should be enough I think - a network router should be fine.

what he said the router will pretty much divvy up you connection evenly between the 2 PCs Linksys routers are the norm and most economical routers for splitting up internet connections and creating lan's too

they are easy to set up with little to no problems they are also available in Wireless too wire less routers normally have 4 wired ports available

Extra useless Info
a router can handle several hundred PC's even thought the norm is 2-4 just add switches and voila multi PC lan

Agreed. A basic Linksys router would be the easiest way to share the connection with your brother. That's what I've got setup to allow me to run multiple of my computers online at once; it works quite nicely.
