My only problem with that setup is the motherboard, only 2 slots for RAM. :( IF I needed to add another Gig in the future, I'd have to get rid of my existing RAM.

I'm not sure, I"m really liking the AMD 6000+. I've always had AMD. I'm just weird like that. I'll keep looking..thanks :)
iirc socket 939 only used regular DDR. You're going to need new ram anyway. If you can only budget yourself 300 bucks you will likely have to shop around a lot to get suitable parts to last you 3 years w/o upgrading, if it is even possible.

Can I upgrade my video card to the 4850 and my rig still be viable for newer games? Or is there too much of a bottleneck?

If your motherboard is pcie version 1.1, pcie 2.0cards are backwards compatible and will work with it. You will need to have enough juice from your psu to work it though.

It should work.

I can't guarantee no bottlenecks with that gpu, even on my own system if I were to buy it.

But generally if you only have the money to upgrade one component and your parts are of equal age I would say to go with a new video card every time.
