Hey Dog - Headphones

Post by Preacherman » Sun Nov 02, 2008 1:44 am

Can't be bothered callin u

so - question oh mighty one

Was fiddlin a bit last night with the setup - but can't find where to trun off headphones but keep on the microphone??

ie - want the sound to come outta speakers but for the usb mic (belongin to headphone set) still to work.

I tried all the logical places (except obviously the instruction booklet) - unless it neede to restart the game before they took affect - didn't try that (ok couldn't be bothered)

BTW, loving this new headset...

My venerable old headset (my third in as many years) broke with the same old problem: the wire connecting the headset to the computer broke inside, close to where it goes into the headphones. I had Scotch tape holding the damned thing in place, but it eventually gave up the ghost and I wasn't going to be bothered to solder it.

So went out to FutureShop (aka BestBuy!) and bought a Logitech Wireless headset. No wires. The only bother is that it has to be recharged. Sound is great and for some reason, it is now in stereo....
:eh:

Anyway, Preacherman got one too, and we now have semi-redundant SB XFi sound cards in our machines as the headsets use USB...
I say semi redundant because WMP can be configured to use an alternative sound card.

Yeah I have used USB headset before. It acted quirky and would stop working sometimes despite being constantly plugged in!

Now, I am aaaaall high tech as I use an old Bluetooth from a couple phones ago.

Nevermind, I did some digging on Logitechs and Futureshops website and found em....

Kinda steep eh?

Hmmm, $139 at Futureshop, $97 at newegg, and I have a few other sites to check for the best price before I pull the trigger.

Of course if I dont like them then I can blame Mr. Dog ;-P

S'all right.
I'm used to being blamed.
I missed the doorbell twice this morning, they're so good!

I'll just blame Gator.

Here in Chilliwack, (aka The Boonies of Vancouver), we don't have a big range of shops to choose from and I needed the headset right away....so I ended up forking out more than I should have.

Ah well...either postage and packaging or gas prices would have added to the price anyway!
