With a 460 watt psu you should be able to power most graphics cards.

You can power everything besides a 9800GX2 ($400), GTX 260 ($300), GTX 280 ($450), 4870x2 ($550), 8800GTX (NA), 8800Ultra (NA) with that 460w power supply.

If y'all looked around, you can actually use an 8400GS or a Radeon HD3450. Computer companies dont offer extras that cant run a setup they built. They just dont do it. Somehow, we, well most of us have been brainwashed to thinking we need an enourmous powersupply when we really dont.

I have a 1000W PSU, but I made well use of it, had the two of most power hungry GPU on the market. and even that I didnt need, so I found out. Each 8800 Ultra pulled 175w. So a single 460w PSU would actually run an 8800 Ultra. unlikely 2 with all your other stuff.

Blackheart appears to have actually done his homework by selecting an 8400 because it would run on his machine.

But... Blackheart, I would still suggest swapping your PSU. You will be happy you did in the long run, though you may not need 460w, anything to run something up to maybe a 9600 or 3870, or well even less. You will be happy if you do.

Oh, then I really don't see why he wants a GPU upgrade if all he does is DoD and Toy Story.

Did I need 8800 Ultras in SLI to play TF2 all the time? Do you need GTX 280s in SLI?

do you now understand the point of just upgrading your computer because you can?

do you need GTX 280s in SLI?
Yes I do, I game with 4xAA in 1920x1200 and I play games other than TF2 that require a lot of VRAM and Shaders...I still think if all he plays is DoD that he doesn't need to upgrade.

a key element in power supplies that you may want to keep in mind when purchasing one, is to find out how many amps each 12V rail puts out. Some video cards take a lot of amps, and no matter how many watts you have, it must also supply the proper amps. It is printed on the side of the power supply in case you want to find out.

This is one of the reasons I picked up the 750 I'm putting in to my current build. Single rail, 65 amps. No rail balancing necessary :-)

I figure if worse comes to worse, I can plug my refridgerator in to it :-P
