How to: Disable spinning site icon in Firefox
How to: Disable spinning site icon in Firefox
In Firefox, go to about:config and look for the key "browser.chrome.site_icons". Set the value to 'false', and all web pages will load with the default web page icon.
The key "browser.chrome.favicons" does the same thing for site icons saved with your favourites. I like being able to tell the bookmarks apart easily, so I left this one alone.

Was this a problem?

More a minor irritation. I wake up screaming to nightmares about the early 90s and homepages with marquees on them. I figured someone might have suffered similar trauma as a child, so once I looked this up, I thought I'd share.

Ahhhh. Plain ol' white page tab icon.
Thank you srpnt. That spinning thing always distracted me -_-

Is there also a command to disable color? I've always hated sites that use colors.

That's pretty cool. That might come in handy if I'm using a slow connection or something.

There's a link at the bottom to switch modes also.
