Re: Need a router
my best suggestions are these two
NetGear: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6833122100
Linksys: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6833124082
I would go with the NetGear... its cheaper, and you dont need all those extra things Linksys gives you that you will never tap into.

My old Linksys router would just drop wireless about once every 2 weeks, and I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work.
I now have the 2Wire router provided when I upgraded my DSL service and it's just OK. The wired machines are faster (I attribute that mostly to the speed upgrade rather than the router), as is wireless.
My problem is that with the LInksys, when I opened my laptop or started up my computer that goes right to the Ville webpage, I would get instant internet.
Now, with the 2Wire router, I get a message that I am not yet connected, and I have to wait about 5 seconds for some kind of negotiation to take place, then refresh the screen and finally get my web page. Once the machine is started, everything is fine, but I liked the 'instant response' feeling I got with the LInksys.

netgear wireless is good for consistent connections as well... when I get home... if my mom and sister haven't figured it out yet, I'll have to set up our new netgear wireless dsl modem...been waiting for my mom to buy for like 2 months...
