Well I've read a few tech pages and some mentioned it may be a memory or HD issue. One thing they said to try is remove and install different sticks of memory if you have it if not remove and reinstall the memory sticks you have, this fixed the error msg for some. They also said it could be a HD issue as well and some tried another HD and that worked.

Without the disk the above is what some have tried and worked for that error msg, if not then it looks like you may need the disk.

NTFS.sys is one of the first "large" devices loaded into memory. If it is failing, do as once suggested and start with a COMPLETE memory test.

I've found memtest.org free memory tester to be great for figuring out if you have a hardware issue.
