Any other thoughts on disabling Mystcraft like Keyes suggested? Any other server regulars who you haven't seen make an appearance in this thread yet?

I personally would hate it because that's my favorite tekkit mod.

I mean the only time it crashed the sever is that time when I tried to make that lava power world.... and maybe when I loaded that world with too many features.....

It's still not as bad as breeders and circular item tubes...

I'd love to keep it around since it's really neat. But, I don't imagine that it's great for server stability. But really, I have my worries that the current server can't handle Tekkit the way it's meant to be played.

that would be ideal...but unrealistic...unless someone rented a new server.

As far as Mystcraft, it's cool and I wouldn't want to get rid of it out of hand, but there really needs to be a limit on how many alternate dimensions we have. There's no reason for any one person to have more than a half dozen or so, and I feel like that's being generous. If we can't keep it under control, I'd say we're better off without it than with a server trying to run 100 worlds at a time. Fast Travel is being handled with the Dimensional Doors mod, not Mystcraft, so there's no need to worry about losing that.

Honestly I blame the structure of Mystcraft on the creation of so many useless worlds. In order to get pages you need to explore some pocket worlds and find libraries with pages. In order to gain a full set you need to explore a LOT of worlds. You can also trade with villagers but that takes a lot of emeralds. It also doesn't help if you screw up your world and get meteors falling from the sky, you have to try again from scratch.

we know...that is why i suggested we drop it until it is optimized or we have hardware that can handle it...the assignment of blame is immaterial

Thanks for the opinions folks. Dog reset the map tonight and upgraded the RAM in the server.
