APB All Points Bulletin
Just wondering if anyone plans on getting this game. Right now you can get 5 free hours for the 'Key to the City' event (basically stress-test). This event lasts till the 19th.
Anyways, this game mostly reminds me of the GTA 4 multiplayer mod.
The different subscription plans also won me over. You can pay for play hours, or monthly+.
Anyways, so far me and thay have pre-ordered/bought.

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
preordered on saturday. Was able to play for about two hours yesterday. It seems like a lot of fun so far.

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
Played through my 5 hours already.
Dunno if I'll get it yet - I do like their subscription policy (where you pay for an X-hour block OR by month), which makes it more affordable for me than most MMOs.
We'll see. I had a lot of fun, certainly!

Heads up, anyone who wants to try this game. You can play it for free till the 19th in their 'key to the city' (basically open beta/stress test). You can find keys from websites like rock paper shotgun. It was 5 hours of gametime, they added 5 more for 10 total. One guy actually told me its unlimited.
I am loving this game to death, its funner to play with people so hit me up. Also gametime doesn't count the entire time you're in game. You can customize and design cars/clothing/tattos in the social area (shore front shopping mall) and that doesn't use gametime.

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
By the way, is it just me or does anyone else get a really achy (keyboard) forearm while playing this?
My key binding setup is not dissimilar to any other game I play, but whenever I play APB, my arm aches afterwards for a long while, whereas I can play TF2 for similar or longer periods and have no issues at all.
I'm probably just weird.

I have no problem with aches, I set my keybinds the same as everyother game I play.
Re: APB All Points Bulletin
Man, I suspect I'm gonna be getting this after all - I just used up my 2nd 5 hours and it's SOOOOO much fun!
Just got the auto-shotgun as well, which makes killing enemies in cars a lot easier (chase em, block em with your car, blow up their car!)

Heads up everyone, looks like we'll be playing enforcers as mains. Also if the servers are like beta 1001 1002 or something just choose the lowest (1st) one.
Re: APB All Points Bulletin
I was playing enforcer through kttc (though I started a 2nd account for brief fling as a crim) - I think I'll stay as that.
Will try and get on lowest numbered server (will also try and get Greebo as a name)

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
Well my biggest concern of being a crim is the constant APB. I want the ability to go to the bathroom to go pee and not have to worry about being dead when I come back.
Also the crim none mission stuff is pretty boring (selling stolen cars, robbing stores) while the enforcers have the ability to spam witness for some quick cash and rep, and the ability to arrest people making a more profitable and skillful take down.

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
Heh I gotta admit I never tried to arrest anyone - killing them seemed so much more satisfactory.
But I also figure there's almost bound to be more crim players than enforcers.
I thought APBs weren't triggered unless your threat/prestige went past a certain level? Certainly I had hits out on me as an enforcer.
There was one very well organised crim group on a server I played on during kttc. They called themselves the Taco gang or something - basically there were APBs out on them all the time, but they had taken over the roof of some building that was more or less inaccessible aside from one well guarded route. Had rocket launchers and snipers and everything. Went up against them once or twice but mostly lost.

Re: APB All Points Bulletin
Yeah, some players weren't wiped between beta and KTTC. At that point they were very powerful over the rest of the player base.
As far as prestige goes it is almost impossible to keep it below three. You get more money from missions the higher your prestige is, so you want to keep it up. However, keeping it low for crims keeps you from getting thrown into random APB (not an enforcer problem). The main thing is the 3/4 star point. At 3 and less stars you get prestige from killing civs. At 4 you lose prestige.
