Re: Feed The Beast will return shortly!
Alright folks! I wasn't planning on bringing the server up until tonight, so I could be there to troubleshoot if anything went wrong, but I'm going to be later getting home than I thought. As a result, I'm just going to bring it up now, and hope everything works out! If there are problems, I will check in when I get home tonight of course, and will address it then. Go to it, my friends! Let me know if there are issues.
The mod pack is Feed The Beast: Infinity Evolved v2.2.2
The IP is 199.202.218.139:56790
FTB away!
For those who want a quick and dirty, here's a listing of the most significant changes from DW20 v1.6.1
SIGNIFICANT NEW MODS
Advanced Solar Panels: An IC2 add-on with some high-power EU solar panels.
Agricraft: Some slight modifications to crop systems, and adds irrigation.
Decocraft: A mod that allows the creation of decorative blocks for the home.
Draconic Evolution: Adds some high-power items developed with a rare low-level and other-dimensional ore. Some elements can function to replace parts of Modular Power Suits,
Forbidden Magic: An expansion to Thaumcraft, adding new enchantments, wands, and some other evil.
Gravitation Suite: Another IC2 add-on that adds some top-end upgrades.
Headcrumbs: Everything drops heads!
Immersive Engineering: A mod that basically exists to make things take more space and be less efficient, but theoretically look more realistic. I believe its use is optional (the normal way of doing things should still be available – if not, I will hunt this thing down like a beast).
Immersive Integration: See above.
Logistics Pipes: We had it in previous servers, we’ll have it again! New pipes.
Nether Ores: They’re back! Remember, piggies will get mad…
Pam’s HarvestCraft: Adds a loony number of new foods, seeds, and cooking options. Also some growth/harvest alterations.
Runic Dungeons: Extra-dimensional boss dungeons, ho!
Simply Jetpacks: RF-powered jetpacks in various strengths.
Solar Expansion: More solar panels, but these generate RF directly!
Springboards: Adds three strengths of springboards to the game, allowing you to jump significant heights or break falls from same.
Steve’s Workshop: A nifty little device allowing you to use access the GUI of multiple crafting tables or furnaces at a time.
Storage Drawers: Somewhere between barrels and chests, a different aesthetic option for storage – looks like drawers or cabinets in your choice of wood.
SIGNIFICANT MODS NO LONGER PRESENT
Compact Solars: An IC2 solar panel mod, pretty much replaced by Advanced Solar Panels, above.
Factorization: An alternative ore-processing system that didn’t get much use.
Flat Signs: Allowed signs on ceilings and floor. Sad to lose it.
Forge Multipart: Some of the Microblocks and such, apparently no longer compatible.
InfiniBows: Ya gotta carry at least one arrow to use that Infinity bow.
Mapwriter: A no-longer-necessary add-on to the mapping program.
Modular Powersuits: Our beloved power armor, going away. Check out Draconic Evolution for a partial replacement.
Morph: A griefing mod that we kept disabled. Now gone for good.
Obsidiplates: Specialty pressure plates for human or NPC only activation.
PneumaticCraft: Pneumatic tubes, not really necessary given BC stuff.

Tater and I are calling ~16k South our new home.
Are special sign values used on these? Do we have that "google map" thing for the FTB maps?

Re: Feed The Beast will return shortly!
I double-checked settings from last time around against the default configs, and looks like there were very few alterations to be made from the default install.
- Taint spread is now off by default, as it should have been last time!
- The removal of Factorization got rid of the server-crashing golems
- I didn't mess with ore gen (the mods already mess with that) or mapping (that's client-side)
The only config alteration I've made was to remove just a couple items (the same as last time) from Extra Utilities which were game-breakingly silly: The Peaceful Table (free automatic mob killing and loot farming, meant for peaceful mode servers), the Chandelier and Magnum Torch (both utterly prevent the spawning of mobs in giant areas), the Angel Block (basically a creative-mode crutch), and the Angel Ring (Unlimited creative-mode flight).
--edit--
Ok, another edit was made. Sentry Guns no longer randomly murder players and shoot out peoples' windows.

Re: Feed The Beast has returned!
I'm taking a look to see if I can find a changelog for the new 2.3.5 version of Infinity Evolved that was released today. For now we're sticking with 2.2.2.

Re: Feed The Beast has returned!
I'm using 2.2.2 however, since last night every time I've tried to log in I get:
Connection Lost, Timed Out
I can see for instance MasterChef & ADP logged on, and I've got the green checkmark. Local FTB server works. Vanilla MC works fine.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: Deleted the \ftb folder, reinstalled mod pack, rebooted PC & modem & router, verified running 2.2.2/MC 1.7.10, and now on attempting to add the server I get the message: Unknown Host.

Yes, still happening. I've also updated Java but that didn't seem to make a difference either.

Re: Feed The Beast has returned!
Problem(s) solved.
Initial problem caused by ?, but resolved when FTB was reinstalled.
Second problem caused by operator error. After reinstalling FTB, when I put in the server address 199.202.218.139:56790, uh, I had a leading space. Got rid of that space and magic!
Thanks

Whooo! Glad to hear you're back in business, and that it wasn't something technical (after the reinstall anyway...). We all pull a PEBCAK occasionally

Re: Feed The Beast has returned!
Well crap, this is awkward..... Inner, since you were not able to get in I figured you would give up on the game completely and with that in mind I took over your base and started converting it into a time share for bitcoin mining.
Just give me a few days to return things to the way I found them and you are welcome once again in your base
