Sounds like it'll work just fine. Or put some cactus. Maybe some lava!Plinko wrote:Can you make a lip on your walls to prevent spiders from reaching the top?

My trap is already lined with cactus to catch spiders so I'm sure it's good.
Spiders climbing walls. . .going to be creepy. This game has already made me jump several times and now wall climbing spiders?
This is the simplest, coolest little game I have seen in years.

I haven't seen them do it casually yet - they've only gone up walls for me when provoked (like me standing on top of the wall, and them at the bottom). Anybody know if they just wander up walls as well?gator wrote:Spiders climbing up walls... you mean I actually have to put a roof on my place now?

I am disappointed with the music blocks. They are so inconsistent in timing that it would be impossible to make a song work right.

I think the tough part is going to be finding in on worlds that have the chunks generated already for a long distance, you're going to need to get out and explore new areas so the new chunks have the chance for lapis ore to be created.

I know, same thing with the new types of trees. What's up with growing them? Do they randomly happen from saplings, or do they only happen just in newly spawned chunks?. I think new saplings would be awesome, and a great addition to my Arboretum collection. Pine trees seem to be most efficient for wood, they grow tall with little foliage. And Birch just look wierd.Plinko wrote:I think the tough part is going to be finding in on worlds that have the chunks generated already for a long distance, you're going to need to get out and explore new areas so the new chunks have the chance for lapis ore to be created.
Also, anyone else try offline since the update? And is anyone else getting incredibly large amounts of lag when doing so?

More updates!
Fixed various blocks acting really weird when placed (rails, torches, and more)
Optimized performance
Added a new painting that was not added in version 1.2
Reduced spawn rates a bit
Fixed a whole pile of lighting bugs
No more ghosts at night
Added a temporary fix to get rid of chunk visibility errors [1]
Quote in Main Menu returned to normal. (No longer constantly shows the quote "Finally beta!")

Oh man, awesome. The mobs have been out of control since the update, and the performance and chunk errors have just gotten worse...hopefully this resolves all of that

I was only able to walk a few steps at night before getting about a 1-2 second stutter. It was better during the day, though.Buzzy Beetle wrote:Also, anyone else try offline since the update? And is anyone else getting incredibly large amounts of lag when doing so?

Some more interesting stuff found in the 1/13 patch regarding gold tools, iron and coal rates.
