Program scheduler

Post by mr_s » Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:59 am

Hey all.

I am looking to run certain programs on my PC at certain times of the day, and then to terminate them at certain times.

I need a scheduler to do that... anyone know of any?

example.
I get home from college at 6pm, i want tf2 to be ready by 5.55pm so when i get home a quick pwnage and then study again.

many thanks in advance

Give the Windows Task Scheduler a try.

In XP it's in Accessories-->System Tools-->Scheduled Tasks. Not sure about Vista.

thanks mate....

but this is the thing i HATE about XP...

you cannot run what you want..

on my account i do not have a password, and it wont let me run it coz of some error.

I browsed for solutions and found out that without a pass on ur account u need the "run only when loged on" box ticked... meaning you have to be loged in to your account to run that task, otherwise put a password on the account and use that in the scheduler

I think there may be some ports of cron to Windows, not sure how good they are.
