I use a Motorola Modem, and I use a Linksys Wireless B as my router, and I have a "dumbed down" D-Link router that is serving as a switch.

No problems...

Your ISP should supply you with a modem capable of all the download speed.

Any of the Motorola SB5 series would be a good choice.

This is the one I have and if you have the connection, it supports speeds up to 30 megabits per second.

This is the one I have, Highly recommended http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e/103 ... 01&x=0&y=0

Allthough it looks like they have a newer version

I've always had good luck with motorola surfboard DOCSIS modems.

But I've had a less than fun experience with my Dlink wireless-G router.

My advice to you is to narrow down your choices and then research the suckers online. Im sure plenty of sites have rated/reviewed a ton of routers.
