vista mic problems

new to vista.... my mic is usb but it i cant find out how to get it activated all i can get is the headset to work not the mouth piece

I have no idea, but I am sure there are others here using USB sound and Vista.

I haven't used Vista in some time, so bear with me. Try going Start-> Control Panel-> Sounds & Audio Devices Properties-> (at the top) Select the Voice tab. From there you should be able to test your hardware.

I'm assuming you have already tried messing around with some of the options in-game (boosting Mic gain and what-not.)
