DLNA media servers

Post by OldMan » Sat Apr 20, 2013 7:49 pm

This is a question about media servers. DLNA compliant. I'm using Plex on a Windows XP machine and it's working fairly well. I'm having a few issues with iOS playback, and my new SONY wireless receiver sometimes stops playback.

Question is, does anyone here at the Ville run a DLNA media server? If so, which one and what hardware are you running it on?

I'm going to be building a media server out of a really cool little Raspberry Pi I picked up and until that project is finished I'd like to stick with Windows based DLNA servers.

Thanks for your time you geeks!

I have a very simple setup. I'm using a 2TB WD Mybook Live and running it through a Blu Ray player using Twonkey. It's been rock solid for what I use it for. I will say it's networking speed for copying etc feels .....slow, but I'm not copying 10's of gigabytes on a regular basis.
