Having Display issues? Framerates behaving improper?

Post by Araris » Mon Dec 22, 2008 1:09 pm

I'd like to start off by saying that the purpose of this topic is to inform those with driver issues/framerate issues how to properly install a clean driver. This is the method numerous amounts of people use and as long as you know what you are doing it's full proof and can very well solve vast amounts of driver issues.

If considering you'll need to download DRIVER SWEEPER, which is a handy program which searches your folders in order to locate any driver currently installed and remove all evidence of it being there, which a normal "uninstall driver" will not do.

How to use,

1) Go to your Device Manager, right click on your Video Card(s) and hit uninstall
2) It will prompt you to restart, click yes
3) Boot into Safe Mode (press F8 at computer boot)
4) Run Driver Sweeper and check mark the boxes for drivers you want to uninstall (Nvidia or ATi)
5) A list of entities Driver Sweeper has found will be displayed, hit clean
6) Restart your computer
7) Install the driver set you want to install

Nvidia Drivers
ATi Drivers

For computer reasons, when using Driver Sweeper please only check mark the ATi Drivers or Nvidia Drivers boxes, do not check the Chipset Drivers or any of the other boxes.

Thanks man, i will try that for sure because my Graphic Card i really wierd. I should be able to play, let's say, TF2 in normal settings perfectly but i can't. I can only play with lowest settings and 1024x786 and even then i only have a FPS around 20-30.

I will report back if it's better after i reinstalled my Driver^-^
Sorry Itchy i had to do it :3
