I personally prefer the lcd, because my crt screen was always dusty and my room gets some wicked glare, and crts + glare = nearly impossible to see screen.

I'm normally picky about distorted images and such when gaming. But as long as you run the monitor in its native resolution you should be fine.

Thats my problem. I LIKE being able to switch resolutions w/o repercussions. CRTs let you do that. LCDs throw a hissy fit.

Bah! Thats just silly. But I can why you would still prefer a crt.

I understand you really enjoy CRT's but let me just tell you. I have been using Viewsonic LCD's for a long time, and I love them so much, that for Artes' birthday this past year, I bought him this.

The ratio is amazing (it auto adjusts) the screensize is perfect, nothing ever looks distorted, I'm starting to get jealous of it. really I am. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... pk=vx2240w

I always trust my heart with viewsonic, and especially their 2ms monitors that have no shading, you can look for one of the newer ones, but viewsonic hasn't let me down for years

Well I threw my old 17" into the dumpster, and replaced it with my new 17" today. It's performing beautifully, and it has a refresh rate or 72Hz at 1280x960.

I have to say that I can totally understand why you would stay CRT. When I went from my CRT to LCD, it was a big difference! I'm used to the difference now, but at the time it was hard to get used to.
