Screen Recording Software

Can't remember if I asked about this before, but i'm looking for a program that can record what i'm doing on my screen. I have a program on hand called CamStudio which I used frequently a long while ago, but it is incapable of capturing audio from the speakers and I would like to be able to catch that. Does anyone have any recommendations for what might be a good choice? I'd like it to be as free as possible but i'd be willing to pay for a program as long as it isn't too expensive.

thats what i was asking...is there an aversion to fraps? it does all that is required (or did you not remember the name of it)

i think also they have a free version (granted it leaves the "fraps.com" in the screen...)

I just honestly didnt know if there was a reason to not use it since it is "what everyone uses" and can be a bit simplistic

I am unfamiliar with it myself since I use fraps, but friends highly recommend it.

I just didn't want to pay for it, and was under the impression that the trial version of fraps won't record longer than a minute at a time. I was using an open source program some time ago called CamStudio but it isn't compatible with a lot of sound cards.

Ah, i haven't used their free version in years...and years...so i will defer to you on that one
