Was just curious if anyone knows if dod:source and TF2 have issues with NVIDIA cards? I keep getting lock ups in game after playing a whlie or a short amount of time. I usually ctrl-alt-del and close it, but my last crash i let it go for about 30 seconds and it came back with all the graphics messed up. Couldn't read any letters, and some of the textures of players and backgrounds were different colours. Was kinda weird, has anyone else had something like this go on?
Am looking at buying a new system in a month or two anyways so not too worried about it, but may just need to make sure i have an ati card in the next system if this is the issue.

Re: NVIDIA issues?
I've gotten some lockup issues with my GTS 250, it was getting pretty hot. I was able to reduce the heat and lessen lockups by increasing fan speed with EVGA Precision http://www.evga.com/precision/

nvidia control panel can also be used to control your gpu's fan. I turn mine up to 90 or 100 percent when I game. Otherwise I lock up.

I have an ATI card. It's an HD 5850 and I loves it but I also have to turn the fan up using the Catalyst Control Center that comes with its driver suite. So, like most have said here, just turn the fan speed up and keep that card cool or else you'll have those problems. Once you keep that card cool then you should be able to game with no problems!

Re: NVIDIA issues?
I think when i get my new system in a couple of months i am going to get myself an ati card, for the life of me i can't figure these issues out. I can play for hours with no issues, and other times i can play a few minutes (with TF2 and dod:source). I know its not heat issues, as i can play fallout 3 till my eyes bleed and no problems.
