Password help

Post by M's » Fri May 14, 2010 8:02 am

I am in dire need of some help. My brother gave my oldest son a desktop.
The only problem is. He forgot his password.
Is there a way to reset or bypass this with out the startup disk. I believe it is running windows 98 or 2000.

The startup disk will be the best and easiest option. Actually, I might think about reloading the OS anyway and depending on the hardware upgrade it to something like XP if you can find a copy (Which I am sure you should be able to).

Haven't used 98 in forever, so no clue if this is accurate (a little bit of reading indicates it might work).

Thanks guys. I knew I came to the right place.

Just wondering. Is anyone here able to remote diagnose?

WINternals ftw. This was made by some guys who were later hired by Microsoft and given a free pass to work on pretty much anything they wanted to.
