Hmm, I have to give AMD massive props on the pricing however I'm still not a fan of the speed at which they're progressing their manufacturing node. The ideal 6-core would be 32nm or less. Quads already get warm enough on 45nm.
I agree with you that 32nm is more ideal for a 6 core dye. I was actually surprised by the TDP of the 1090T only being 125w @ 3.2ghz. I expected the Thuban top tier CPU to be 2.6-2.8ghz @ 140w max. Apparently so far people are getting really good overclocks with Thuban as well(4ghz on air and 4.6+ on liquid). I would have never guessed that a 3.2ghz hexa-core would have been plausible/possible with a 125w TDP. I'm glad I stuck it out with AMD now as I was getting jealous of the i7 performance premium and while I in no way shape or form consider these new AMD CPUs to be superior to the top tier Intel procs, I like where AMD is hitting in the price to performance ratio especially with this new line they just introduced.
Thuban is available for purchase
