Mic problems???

Post by Fox_Blaze » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:24 am

Earlier, when I launched Team Fortress 2, I realized that when I tried to talk, all that received was a bunch of muffles and scratches. I went to my settings, and saw that my mic wasn't available. I also noticed that with mic tests i use, and the one on steam, it only picks up the noise coming from the headphones itself. I thought it might have to do with my mic, so I edited some settings, with the aid of my dad, and now my mic is available now, now i am completely silent. Recently, I acquired my dad's sound card from his computer, as I have been surviving on on-board sound for a while. It's a Fatality sound card, and my headset is of the same brand. My headphones work just fine, but my mic doesn't seem to want to cooperate. :/

Has anyone had this problem, or know what's wrong? I'd appreciate all help, :)

I had a similar problem and i just had to make sure that my push to talk button was the same in steam and TF2 or LFD.
