ATI Error message at startup

It pops up at startup.

Found this on a Windows XP Discussion Forum.

Question:
In order to update my graphics drivers, I needed to have net.framework version 2, so I installed it. Now when I boot, I get the following error message: "could not load file or assembly MOM.implementation, version 2.0.... or one of its dependencies". Any ideas how to correct this? Also installed net.framework 3.0 as this was supposed to be an update. Remove programs etc indicates I have net.frame 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0, is this necessary?

I had the same problem - fixed it as follows:

Removed all versions of .Net framework from my computer
Removed all ATI software, including the driver
Reinstalled .Net framework V2 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en)
Rebooted. Windows found the correct video driver online and installed it automatically. Note that I did not attempt to reinstall the entire Catalyst suite, just the driver.
