So, I'm reigniting my on again off again romance with Linux (I've had it installed three or four times before, starting off with Gentoo about four years ago). At the moment, I'm running soundless (Thank you very much, Creative), but with any luck installing OSS should clear up those problems.
The main reason I've decided to go back is because they've released a relatively new program for Linux entitled PlayOnLinux, a shell designed to work with WINE to make playing Windows games on Linux easier. I've read that it apparently does Steam quite well, but we'll have to see.
So, out of curiosity, anyone else out there a penguin too?

Re: Going Penguin
well...my dad uses red hat still (i think thats Linux) and my first computer was on linux. Good OS, my main complaint was i couldn't play most\any pc games (this was back in like 98-01). I do know my mouse pad is Linux

Re: Going Penguin
I love Linux! My laptop is running Ubuntu and I have an old desktop running Puppy Linux. At work I use Insert and Knoppix to repair broken Windows computers.
Let me know how Steam works. My roommate tried to get it running and after about six hours of trying he finally gave up. Everything had little quirks and crashed frequently.
