Steam not opening

Yeah, its weird, steam isn't opening anymore on my brothers PC...he's reinstalled it, checked firewall, im pretty sure he checked all antivirus programs ect....it's almost like its being blocked...hmmm, im not even sure if he gets an error meassge, im kindve stumped to what it could be....any help?

My Steam has been doing the same thing. I click on the icon then it appears nothing is happening. After waiting a few minutes, I click on the icon again and an error box comes up saying the registry is in use by another process.

The Steam forums didn't offer much in the way of help as they said it was a "Known Issue" and could be related to anti spyware or pop up blockers.

Their fix was to to open up your processes and start shutting them down until you found the culprit blocking Steam from opening. My fix, which is of little help to you, was restore the system to a time when Steam actually worked.

Try shuting everythiing down and restarting if that doesn't work go into your steam/valve file and delete your "clientregistry blob" file and restart steam, that works sometimes.
